{"id":478,"date":"2026-09-18T21:45:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-18T21:45:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.johnfix.com\/?p=478"},"modified":"2026-09-18T21:49:19","modified_gmt":"2026-09-18T21:49:19","slug":"candidate-confusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.johnfix.com\/index.php\/2026\/09\/18\/candidate-confusion\/","title":{"rendered":"Candidate Confusion?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve heard from some Eastchester residents lately who incorrectly thought I was running for the NY State Senate seat currently held by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shelley4senate.com\/\">Shelly Mayer.<\/a> That&#8217;s totally incorrect, and there was similar confusion in some prior election years where some folks incorrectly believed I was running against <a href=\"https:\/\/amypaulin.com\/\">our Assemblywoman, Amy Paulin.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My political beliefs are 100% at odds with the Fix who is running against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shelley4senate.com\/\">Senator Mayer<\/a>.  I also disagree with him about vaccine efficacy and safety, and unsubstantiated election fraud conspiracies. My politics closely align with Democratic Socialists like <a href=\"https:\/\/zohranfornyc.com\/\">NYC Mayor Mandami<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ocasiocortez.com\/ny-14\">Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I would urge you to vote blue all the way in the upcoming election, let&#8217;s flip Congress and keep control of the NY state government.  And drilling down to local politics, I urge you to support <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catsayles.com\/\">Cat Sayles<\/a> for Eastchester Town Supervisor. Our future and the future of our children and grandchildren is depending on our votes.
